The agency also polled the electability of the House Speaker of Puan Maharani. The daughter of the PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri has a less than one percent electability.

The New BNPB Chief

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has sworn in Lieutenant General (Lt. Gen.) Ganip Warsito as the new chief of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB). The latter replaces Lt. Gen. Doni Monardo, who has just entered his mandatory retirement age. The inauguration took place at the State Palace Jakarta on Tuesday (May 25).

Military Procurement: Prabowo’s Statement

On Thursday (May 20), the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, who is also the chairman of Gerindra Party, chaired a meeting of the Defense Industry Policy Committee (KKIP) at the office of the Defense Ministry. In the said meeting, Prabowo delivered some important points, including a commitment to make sure that transfer of technology (ToT) would be included in every procurement of the military equipment (alpalhankam) as demanded by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

So the settlement of the dispute with the Democratic Party led by Moeldoko has been postponed once more.
