Gerindra-PKB Axis
The Chairman of Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto and the Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar agreed to form a coalition for the 2024 elections. It’s not a surprising development for us because we’ve been writing extensively about the potential of the said coalition in the previous articles. The question remains, however, regarding whether or not Prabowo will run altogether with Imin in the 2024 presidential race. They have yet to determine the matter.

There has been a discourse on the prospect of pairing the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential race after both governors received the majority support from the provincial chapters of Nasdem Party in the Party’s National Working Meeting (Rakornas). Apart from Hadi Tjahjanto and Zulkifli Hasan that reportedly will be sworn in as new ministers this afternoon, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is said appointing three new vice ministers this afternoon (June 15). The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir was seen on Monday (June 13) accompanying the fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri, who is also the chairperson of the ruling party PDIP, at the historic Sarinah building in, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The scene is worth highlighting because Erick has been mentioned as one of potential running mates for the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, who is also a PDIP politician.
