Shares in Asia mainly fell on Friday following the negative lead from Wall Street, amid the war in Ukraine and surging US inflation. The Nikkei sank 2%, due to downbeat business sentiment in Q1; while stocks in Hong Kong plunged 1.5% as some Chinese firms may have to delist from the NYSE by 2024 on audit concerns. The Shanghai Composite was muted, on news that China’s Premier will step down after his current term expires next March.
