Indonesia’s consumer confidence index surged 18.2 points to 95.5 in September from 77.3 in the previous month, amid easing COVID-19 restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus. It was the highest reading since June, as all of the six main sub-indices improved: current economic conditions (up 13.3 points to 72.7); economic outlook (up 22.9 points to 118.2); the assessment of current income (up 13.3 points to 76.7); income expectations for the next six months (up 15.5 points to 122.8); job availability compared to six months ago (up 20 points to 61.3), and job availability expectations (up 23.4 points to 114.4).
