The Chairperson of the ruling party PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri noted wasteful budgeting in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Megawati, who is also the fifth President of the Republic, mentioned the procurement of official uniforms and cars by some regional administrations as examples. Megawati’s statement is worth highlighting in relation to the importance of budgeting reform, which is a concerning issue in the country but remains rarely discussed.
