Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia declined by 19.33 percent year-on-year to 127,512 in April 2021, amid the prolonged impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, slumped 96.7 percent to 9. Also, those reaching Batam were down 9.57 percent to 208. In contrast, the number of arrivals in Jakarta jumped 3,597 percent to 15,528. Tourists fell mostly from Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, while grew from Singapore and Thailand.
