Sales volume of cement producers in Indonesia showed an improvement in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021. State cement maker Semen Indonesia (SMGR) reported that sales volume increased 2.1% to 9.69 million tons (MT) year on year (y/y). Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SMCB), unit of SMGR, reported a 10.97% rise in sales volume to 3.15 MT. State-owned Semen Baturaja (SMBR) also announced its sales volume grew 22% to 2.18 MT. Indocement Tunggal Perkasa (INTP) reported its sales volume improved to 4 MT in Q1 this year, up 2.36% y/y. Chairman of the cement association, Widodo, sees the domestic cement consumption this year will increase by 8% to 67.1 MT, after falling more than 10% in 2020.
