Indonesia posted a trade deficit of US$1.52 billion in May of 2018, swinging from a US$0.56 billion surplus a year earlier. It is the second straight month trade gap, mainly due to a surge in imports. Imports increased 28.12% to US$17.64 billion while exports rose 12.47% to US$16.12 billion.
