Consumer prices in Indonesia increased 3.25% year-on-year in January of 2018, slowing from a 3.30% rise in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since December 2016, as prices slowed for housing & utilities (4.24 vs 5.14% in December 2017); processed food (4.07 vs 4.10%); transport (1.55 pct vs 4.23%), and health (2.76 pct vs 2.99%). 

Meanwhile, prices went up faster for: raw food (2.95 vs 1.26% in December 2017); clothing (4.10 pct vs 3.92%), and education (3.37 vs 3.33%). Meantime, core consumer prices went up 2.69% year-on-year, the lowest inflation rate since the series began in December 2008, compared to a 2.95% rise in the prior month. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.62%, after increasing by 0.71% in a month earlier.
