Talking in a press briefing at the State Palace on Monday (Dec. 7) afternoon, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo showed how angry he was at the Speaker of the House Setya Novanto for allegedly abusing his authority, and using the President’s name to promise a contract extension to PT Freeport Indonesia in exchange for the Company’s to-be-divested shares. Many then wondered whether Jokowi’s anger would lead to firm actions against Novanto and the businessman Reza Chalid, such as ordering the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) to expedite their investigation into the case, and/or urging the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Police (POLRI) to launch their own investigation into the case.To subscribe please click here
