Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his Vice Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama have benefited from non-stop media exposure. Interest in both is constantly high because they are both excellent sources of materials. Governor Jokowi and his penchant for wandering the city allows for good photo ops, and reportage. Vice Governor Ahok’s tendency to speak his mind out is heaven for those in search of punchy headlines. But constant media attention does not always work to the pair’s advantage.
