Nicke Widyawati as CEO of Pertamina?
The acting CEO of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati has been mentioned as the likely definitive CEO of Pertamina. Several of our sources in the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) have said that Nicke is indeed a strong candidate for the position, and that her name is already on the list of candidates to be considered by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

After Rini Soemarno became Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the former CEO of PT Semen Indonesia, Dwi Soetjipto, became the CEO of Pertamina. But Dwi only laster two years. He was replaced by Elia Massa Manik, a former CEO of state-owned PTPN III. Elia, however, only lasted a year. And since then, we are yet to see a new CEO of Pertamina. Rumor has it, PLN’s Sofyan Basir is a strong contender for the position.
