2024 Political Outlook (1)

Among five largest political parties in Indonesia, four of them will each hold its chairmanship congress next year after the 2024 simultaneous presidential and legislative elections. If anything, the outcomes of the 2024 elections might have some implications for the next year’s chairmanship congress of these four major political parties.

CSIS Survey

Another survey from the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) found Prabowo-Gibran leading the poll, but the pair’s electability was still below 50 percent. CSIS also found that Anies Baswedan took over the second position from Ganjar Pranowo with almost five percent margin separating them. Let’s talk a bit about this survey.

Prabowo’s Aceh Visit

Prabowo Subianto visited Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD), the western province of Indonesia, along with the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his eldest son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). During this visit, Prabowo received the endorsement from Muzakir “Mualem” Manaf, the chairman of Aceh Party, the largest political party in Aceh province.

A new survey from Indikator Politik Indonesia shows that Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka are still leading the 2024 presidential election with a big margin. Indikator, however, also found that Prabowo-Gibran’s electability has yet to reach 50 percent+1.

Notes on Latest Electability Survey

A new survey from the Center for Political Communication Studies (CPCS) found that Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka led 2024 race with 51.7 percent of electability, far above Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. CPCS is the first pollster to find Prabowo-Gibran’s electability reaching more than 50 percent. However, rather than their findings, we are more interested to know the people behind this pollster instead.
