Another day, another controversy. That’s what the people see coming from Prabowo Subianto’s running mate Sandiaga Uno. Recently, Sandi harvested criticism for a video he posted in his social media account of a local farmer in Brebes (Central Java).

Golkar & 2019 Legislative Election

The ruling party PDIP is optimistic that their ally the Golkar Party will be able to take the runner-up position in the 2019 legislative election. Golkar has indeed set a high target. It plans to secure 110 out of the 575 seats in the House of Representatives (DPR) or around 19%. Can Golkar live up to the said expectation?

The polling agency Charta Politika released the result of their survey on the electability of political parties in the capital city Jakarta. From the said survey, Charta found the declining electability of some major political parties in the city and the rise of others.

The Furious Prabowo-Sandi

The campaign team of Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno is furious with the recent detainment of their campaigners. It doesn’t help their mood that Sandi has become the butt of jokes in social media, and that one of their executives have joined the side of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his running mate KH Ma’ruf Amin (Jokowi-Amin).

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has collected more endorsements from the retired military-police officers, and alumni of high schools and Trisakti University in Jakarta. Prabowo Subianto’s running mate Sandiaga Uno, meanwhile, was under the spotlight for another blunder.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo met with ulemas and habaibs from the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area at the State Palace, yesterday (Jan. 7). His running mate K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, meanwhile, went to the region visiting West Sumatera, which is one of the provinces that Jokowi lost to Prabowo Subianto by a significant margin back in the 2014 presidential election.

Poling agency Populi Center has just released the result of their electability survey. Like all other polling agencies (except Median) Populi found the incumbent President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and his running mate KH Ma’ruf Amin (Jokowi-Amin) leading in the 2019 presidential race by a significant margin over Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Sandiaga Uno (Prabowo-Sandi). Interestingly, Populi looks further into the electability of both presidential contenders in every age-range and religious group.
