Jakarta election aftermath
Jakarta Regional Election Commission (KPUD) has declared Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, a pair candidate from PDIP, the only political party outside Prabowo’s ruling coalition, as winner of the election. Prabowo’s coalition, however, refused to concede despite around 10% margin from the winner.

The pressure continues flowing from the public to President Prabowo Subianto to dismiss Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman a.k.a Gus Miftah from a position of the President’s Special Envoy for mocking an iced tea seller during a recent religious event in Magelang, Central Java. In the meantime, Heru Budi Hartono, one of closest aides of Jokowi (Prabowo’s predecessor), has been appointed as a special staffer for the new Minister of State Secretary Hadi Prasetyo, who is one of Prabowo’s closest aides.

The House of Representatives (DPR), in its plenary session on Thursday (Dec. 5), has officially determined five new members of the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) Supervisory Team for 2024-2029 period that will be recommended to President Prabowo Subianto. Who are they?
New Territorial Commanders
The Military Commander (Panglima TNI) General Agus Subiyanto recently officiated a job rotation. Among those affected by this rotation that are worth highlighting are two young army generals who have been promoted as the new territorial commanders. They are Maj. Gen. Rio Firdianto and Maj. Gen. Achiruddin Darojat.
Blank Box Victories & Regional Head Re-Election in 2025
The House of Representatives (DPR) and the General Election Commission (KPU) have reached an agreement to conduct re-election next year for the regions in which the sole candidate failed to defeat a blank box on the ballot. The re-election will be held on Aug. 27, 2025.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the 112th birthday anniversary of the Muhammadiyah, the second largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, today (Dec. 4) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The President himself has already landed in Kupang since Tuesday (Dec. 3).
Power Struggle in PBNU
Tension arises again within the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, following the maneuver to topple KH Yahya Cholil Staquf a.k.a Gus Yahya, the chairman of the NU’s Central Board (PBNU), through the Muktamar Luar Biasa (MLB) or the extraordinary chairmanship congress. Gus Yahya himself has two more years in PBNU before his term ends in December 2026.

Prabowo’s administration, as we all know, plans to develop the first nuclear power plant project in Bangka Belitung province.
