Awaiting Jokowi’s Military Commander Nominee (2)

The succession of the Military Commander (Panglima TNI) is no doubt the biggest political event this year. However, the House of Representatives (DPR) has not yet received the name of the military commander nominee from President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. The President is likely to submit the military commander nominee’s name to the DPR once he returns from his overseas visit.

One worth highlighting is the bilateral meeting between Jokowi and French President Emmanuel Macron. Ganjar Continues Leading the Poll

A new survey from the Lembaga Survei Independen Nusantara (LSIN) found the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo leading the poll. It is yet another fresh survey placing Ganjar at the top of the poll. LSIN conducted its survey from Oct. 8 to Oct. 13, 2021. The result of the said survey was released in a virtual press briefing by LSIN Executive Director Yasin Mohammad last Saturday (Oct. 30).

The Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan was busy attending political events in the capital city over the weekend. One of the events Anies attended was the 57th anniversary event of the Golkar Party held in Menteng, Central Jakarta on Sunday (Oct. 31). 

Luhut & 2024 Race

Sahabat Luhut, a volunteer group that supports Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, declared the retired Army general as its presidential candidate for the 2024 race. Luhut, through his spokesperson, stated that he doesn’t desire the presidency.

Anti-Jokowi Rally

Several groups of workers and student activists staged a rally near the State Palace Jakarta on Thursday (Oct. 28) taking the momentum of the Hari Sumpah Pemuda (the Youth Pledge Day) and the seventh year of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s term. They protested against the President and displayed a big banner calling for Jokowi’s resignation.

Megawati’s Warning

The Chairperson of the ruling party PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri has once again reminded her party cadres of the importance of loyalty. She asked those who are disloyal and do not follow the Party’s directive to resign instead of waiting for dismissal. Other than that, Megawati also talked about PDIP’s ministerial candidate criteria that will be proposed to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
