President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo gave a noteworthy speech in two separate events in Badung, Bali on Friday, Dec. 3. The said two events are the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN) and the briefing of the so-called Kepala Satuan Wilayah (Kasatwil) of the National Police (POLRI) and the Indonesian Military (TNI).
Anies’ Association with the Hardliners
Hundreds of PA 212 (212 Alumni Group) members attended the 212 reunion in the capital city Jakarta on Thursday (Dec. 2). The hardline muslim group, in which Rizieq Shihab is listed as supreme leader, staged the gathering even though the National Police (POLRI) did not issue a permit for the event. The Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan, meanwhile, decided not to attend the said reunion.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has on Wednesday (Dec. 1) met with his former spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo (SP), who is also a politician from the ruling party PDIP, in a closed meeting at the State Palace Jakarta. Even though Johan denied a discussion with the President about any position in the cabinet for him, the meeting is worth highlighting. Prior to that, Jokowi also met with Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
