Wadas Incident & 2024 Race

The Police arrested scores of local residents in Wadas village, Purworejo, Central Java for protesting the development of the Bener dam. The incident propelled President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo into the headlines. Some blamed the President and the Governor for the said incident. Will it affect Ganjar’s electability ahead of the 2024 race?

The Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, who is also the chairman of Gerindra Party, was reluctant to respond over the idea of him running together with Muhaimin Iskandar, the chairman of PKB, in the 2024 presidential race.
