It has been over five years since we first reported on the allegation of corruption in the procurement for the construction of the Institute of Public Administration’s (IPDN) faculty building in Agam, West Sumatera. What began as a simple case turned into a massive one as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) alleged that the crime did not only occur in one region. Towards the end of 2021, the KPK detained the latest suspect in the case. This week, the trial started.
More Attempts Launched to Eliminate Threshold
The Constitutional Court (MK) rejected two more judicial review (JR) requests on Election Law No. 7/2017 that attempted to eliminate the presidential threshold set in the said law. But the Court’s rejection didn’t make people give up as more requests were submitted to the MK against the threshold, including the one filed by the infamous lawyer and former law minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Pollster Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) found the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo leading the poll in East Java, the second largest province in the country. However, LSI also found that Prabowo Subianto could win East Java and the presidential race if the retired Army general were paired up with Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the East Java governor.
