President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is scheduled today (Oct 14) to brief the Chief of the National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the latter’s ranks at the State Palace Jakarta. Earlier, the President assured that General Sigit is still the Police chief. The President’s statement regarding General Sigit is worth highlighting since people have been wondering about the state of their relationship.

There are at least three political meetings in the last few days that are worth highlighting. One of them is the meeting between President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the Acting Chairman of the Islamic Party PPP Muhammad Mardiono, who is also a member of the President’s Advisory Council (Wantimpres). In the meeting, Mardiono told the President about the support from the PPP’s provincial chapters for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential race.

The relationship between Nasdem Party, a political party led by media mogul Surya Paloh, with the other members of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s ruling coalition, especially PDIP, is in alarming state after Anies Baswedan’s nomination. On top of that, the latest statement from Zulfan Lindan, one of Nasdem Party’s executive heads, that mentioned Anies as the antithesis of President Jokowi only made things worse.
