Anas Urbaningrum, former chairman of Democratic Party and ex-convict, told the press about his upcoming meeting with the Chairman of the PKN Party I Gede Pasek Suardika after the Lebaran Day (Eid al-Fitr). Their meeting is worth highlighting in light of 2024 elections since PKN is one of the political parties that will participate in the elections.

PDIP’s Standing

The ruling party PDIP is opening the door for a coalition, including with Prabowo Subianto, in the 2024 presidential race. However, the Party requires that its cadre becomes the presidential candidate. The statement was delivered by PDIP’s secretary general, Hasto Kristiyanto.

Doubting Anies: Amien Rais’ Latest Statement

Political parties within Anies Baswedan’s coalition are annoyed with Amien Rais, the supreme leader of the new Ummah Party. Amien recently stated that supporting Prabowo Subianto is always a choice if Anies fails to enter the 2024 presidential race.

Prabowo’s Upcoming Meeting with Megawati

The Chairman of Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto, who is also the minister of defense, is scheduled to meet with the fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri, who is also the chairman of the ruling party PDIP, soon after the Lebaran day (a local term for Eid al-Fitr). New Poll: Ganjar Bounce Back

A new survey from the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) found Ganjar Pranowo back at the top of the poll. Earlier, Ganjar’s electability dropped significantly according to a survey conducted by SMRC’s competitor LSI. 

Kaesang & 2024 Race

Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, is seeking to run in the 2024 regional elections. According to the latest news, Kaesang might run for mayor in Depok (West Java), a city that has been controlled by the opposition party PKS for the last two decades.

Gibran & 2024 Race

The Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) recently released the results of its latest electability survey on potential candidates for the 2024 presidential race. Another interesting finding from the survey that is worth highlighting is the electability of the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is the eldest son of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, that surprisingly was above Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Puan Maharani.

Litbang Kompas’ Projection on Ganjar

The Research & Development Department (Litbang) of Kompas, the largest newspaper in Indonesia, predicted that Ganjar Pranowo might suffer a potential loss of votes after a polemic surrounding the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Ganjar, as we all know, was among governors from the ruling party PDIP that rejected the participation of Israel in U-20 World Cup that eventually led Indonesia to lose the hosting rights of the tournament. Assuming voters will keep that in mind to the voting booths in February 2024 and that we will have a three-horse race.

2024 Race Dynamics (24)

The volunteer groups of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo have just held the so-called Musyawarah Rakyat (Musra), a presidential convention, in three provinces where they found Prabowo Subianto secured the most votes. These volunteer groups plan to hold the final convention in Jakarta on May 21, 2023, and the President is expected to attend the event.
