Will Jokowi only announce Johnny Plate’s replacement or make some other changes into his cabinet instead?

On Speculation about Jokowi-Prabowo’s Meetings

There has been speculation following President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s recent intensive meetings with the Chairman of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto, who is also the defense minister. Some observers speculate that the meetings are strong signal of the President’s potential endorsement for Prabowo in the next year’s presidential election. Let’s talk a bit about this speculation.

SBY’s Rhetorics

The sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), in his 27-page book, said that he respected the decision of his successor, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, to be a part of ‘cawe-cawe’ (local term for talks/efforts) in regard to the 2024 presidential race. SBY, however, reminded that in the 2014 presidential election he chose a neutral position instead. Is it true?

Erick Thohir & Football Politics

Everybody is in a happy mood following the decision from the world’s football governing body FIFA to appoint Indonesia for hosting the U-17 World Cup. It can be the cure to public disappointment after losing the rights to host U-20 World Cup earlier. At the same time, it can also boost President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s approval rating and Erick Thohir’s electability.

Update on Ganjar Camp

The House Speaker Puan Maharani mentioned that there will be a surprise during a culminating event of the Bung Karno month, which is scheduled to be held tomorrow (June 24) at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Senayan, Central Jakarta. So, many wonder whether Ganjar’s running mate will be announced tomorrow during the event.
