Anies’ Meeting with SBY & Paloh

Anies Baswedan is scheduled to meet with the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and his eldest son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), today (Aug 25). Prior to that, Anies met with media mogul Surya Paloh, who is also the chairman of Nasdem Party, yesterday. Will they reach an agreement on who will become the running mate?

Litbang Kompas, the research division of the largest newspaper in Indonesia, recently released the results of its latest electability survey on political parties that will compete in the next year’s legislative election. According to Litbang Kompas, PDIP and Gerindra lead the poll far above the other political parties. How about Perindo, a political party led by media mogul Hary Tanoesoedibjo?

Ganjar vs Prabowo (2)

Another survey from the Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting (SMRC) pointed to Ganjar Pranowo leading the poll ahead of Prabowo Subianto, and Anies Baswedan. In a head-to-head simulation, however, SMRC found Prabowo can defeat both Ganjar and Anies. Pretty much similar to results of survey from Litbang Kompas, a research division of Kompas, the largest newspaper in the country.

(ret) Susno Duadji, who will compete in the 2024 legislative election as a lawmaker candidate from PKB, an Islamic party strongly affiliated to the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

Unlike the other pollsters, Litbang Kompas, the research division of the largest newspaper in Indonesia, found Ganjar Pranowo leading the poll with a razor-thin margin above Prabowo Subianto. In a head-to-head simulation, however, Ganjar lost to Prabowo with more than five-percent margin.
