As a public television station, TVRI is independent, neutral and non-commercial with operating budget that comes from the State Budget (APBN). This was done in an effort to distance TVRI from the olden days of government propaganda. But the change in TVRI may not have happened for the better.

The Bank Bali Case

The pre-trial suit filed by the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) related to the Warrant for Termination of Investigation (SP3) for Setya Novanto as the former President Director of PT Era Giat Prima (EGP) was declined by the South Jakarta District Court. The judge argued that the case had no proof and did not cause losses to the State.
