The KPK Closing In on North Sumatera Governor
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Governor of North Sumatera Gatot Pujo Nugroho, and his wife Evi Susanti, yesterday (July 27) for almost 14 hours. The KPK questioned Gatot and his wife as witnesses in the bribery scandal implicating the infamous lawyer Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis, and several officials at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Medan, North Sumatra. Gatot had already been called in for questioning once, back then he was grilled for almost 12 hours.

Mandala Airlines’ Liquidation on A Standstill
PT Mandala Airlines, which was later known by the name Tigerair Mandala, was declared bankrupt on February 9, 2015. But to date, the process of calculating the company’s assets for repayment of debt has not yet been finalized. The main obstacle causing the lengthy bankruptcy/liquidation process is the feud between the Company’s shareholders, board of directors, and the board of commissioners. Further complicating the process, is the fact that the assigned team of curators claimed to have found no potential asset that could help with debt repayment.
A Follow-Up on the Fishing License Moratorium
The Ministry of Marine and Fisheries (KKP) under the leadership of Minister Susi Pudjiastuti issued Circular Letter (SE) No. 581/SJ/PS.210/VII/2015 to respond to the request of shipowners for the release of their vessels. SE 581 is third circular issued by the KKP as a follow-up on the Ministry’s temporary operation cessation (Moratorium) for foreign-built vessels operating in Indonesia. Ever since the moratorium, the KKP has conducted evaluations on foreign-built vessels that operate in Indonesian waters.
