The BLBI Graft Case
The Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court continued the trial of Syafruddin “Syaf” Arsyad Temenggung, the former chairman of the Indonesia’s Bank Restructuring Agency (BPPN), who is now a defendant in the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) graft case. In the latest hearing, the court listened to accounts of important witnesses including Rizal Ramli and Kwik Kian Gie.
More on the Sting Operation in Aceh
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the Governor of Aceh Irwandi Yusuf a suspect of graft following the Sting Operation they conducted two days ago. The KPK also named three other suspects in the case. What’s important in this case is that the KPK uncovered the corrupt practice that has been feared for so long: the misuse of Aceh’s special autonomy funds.
Share Ownership Disputes in Blue Bird
PT Blue Bird Tbk (BIRD), its subsidiaries, and the parties around the companies have gone through a share ownership disputes since 2013. We recorded dozens of similar lawsuits filed at the South Jakarta District Court, this is of course not including the other lawsuits filed in other district court. In 2014, one Lani Wibowo and one Elliana Wibowo filed a lawsuit against PT Big Bird and dozens of other individuals, including the Financial Service Authority (OJK), demanding the court to recognize them as the rightful owners of shares in the company. The district court rejected the lawsuit but the High Court overruled the verdict in 2016. On the stage of cassation, the Supreme Court decided to uphold the High Court decision. On July 3, 2018, BIRD announced the cassation verdict in the disclosure of information to the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Sting Operation in Aceh
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) made moves in Aceh. Yesterday evening, right before midnight, the KPK confirmed that they held a Sting Operation in the province and arrested the Governor of Aceh Irwandi Yusuf and the Regent of Bener Meriah Ahmadi (Golkar). This Sting Operation is the second operation held in Aceh after the KPK arrested Abdulah Puteh (former Governor) back in 2004.
Kideco Jaya Agung v. Government
The Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN Jakarta) recently registered a lawsuit filed by PT Kideco Jaya Agung against the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). Update on the Trans-Seram Graft Case
On July 2, 2018, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced that they’re continuing their investigation into the Trans-Seram graft case, the case that brought down several members of House Commission V of the House of Representatives. The KPK also said that they have a new suspect, i.e., one Hong Arta John Alfred, a businessman who initiated the bribery scheme together with the first convict in the case one Abdul Khoir and several other local businessmen.
