TELKOM — PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) Tbk (TLKM) plans to issue bonds worth Rp7 trillion, part of its Rp12 trillion bond issue program. The offering is scheduled for today and tomorrow (June 17-18). The bonds will be issued in 4 series with tenor of 7 years, 10 years, 15 years, and 30 years. The bond coupon is set at 9.925% per annum for series A bonds amounting Rp2.2 trillion, 10.250% for series B Rp2.1 trillion, 10.6% for series C Rp1.2 trillion, and 11% for series D bond amounting Rp1.5 trillion. Acting as underwriters are PT Bahana Securities, PT Danareksa Sekuritas, PT Mandiri Sekuritas, and PT Trimegah Securities.

GARUDA INDONESIA — Flag carrier airlines PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) has on Monday (June 15) signed Letter of Intent (LoI) with France-based plane maker Airbus related to its plan to acquire 30 787-9 Dreamliners, as well as up to 30 737 MAX 8 airplanes. The agreement is part of GIAA’s revitalization program and to support the airline’s future plan to further expand its global reach. In addition, the flag carrier also reconfirmed its intent to purchase 50 737 MAX 8s, originally announced in October 2014. The airline currently operates more than 90 Boeing airplanes, including Next-Generation versions of the 737, 777-300ERs and 747-400s.

Light Rails for Jakarta

The discussion on the development of Light Rail Transit system for Jakarta has intensified in the past couple of days. It culminated with the member of the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD DKI), Mohamad Sanusi, telling the media that the LRT the project wouldn’t go through because it’s not in the capital city’s spatial planning document. This is, of course, a complete non-sense, because anyone who has actually read Jakarta’s spatial planning bylaw (a 155-page document with dozens of attachments) would know that the development of LRT has always been a part of Jakarta’s 2030 spatial planning document, or the so-called RTRW 2030.
