The Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan has been continuously criticized over his priorities. Rather than pushing for infrastructure development to address flood and traffic jams issues, the governor has focused on building sidewalks, renovating pedestrian bridges (JPOs), and renovating his official residence. Recently, Anies chose to revitalize the area of the National Monument (Monas), which many do not believe is urgent and necessary.
