There are at least 40 companies under Astrido Group. One of its important asset is Bank Akita which had total asset of Rp817 billion as of July 2007 with net profit of Rp8.7 billion in the period of Jan-July 2007. Astrido acquired the bank in 2001 with capital injection of Rp72.5billion for 91% shares.

But its core business is clearly the automotive. Besides of being one of the largest authorized dealers of Toyota, Daihatsu, and Isuzu, Astrido also operates assembling facilities.

The group has a sales network comprising 21 outlets (sales and services) located at Jakarta-Tangerang-Bekasi area, consisted of 13 Toyota branches, 4 Daihatsu branches and 4 Isuzu branches. The group’s sales in 2006 came to more than 12,600 new vehicles, accounting for 4 % of the Indonesian car market.

To support car sales, the group established PT Astrido Pacific Finance which has total asset of above Rp110 billion and net profit of Rp6 billion in 2006. Orix Indonesia Finance has 25% shares in Astrido Finance and 5% shares at Bank Akita.

Astrido is an acronym of Astrid and Fernando, both are children of Mr Daniel Gunawan, founder of the group. While Daniel is still at the helm of the group, his son Fernando has been playing more important role as vice president. In fact, according to the company’s information, the 29 year old is in charge of all of the group’s operation.
