The people were euphoric when Joko “Jokowi” Widodo won last year’s presidential election. Many placed their dreams in the President’s hands. But he quickly let them down. The Working Cabinet has shown signs of disharmony. The rift between the Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) widened. Corruption eradication appears stalled. Fuel subsidies were cut. But in the thick of disappointment, Jokowi appeared to show his commitment to achieve his vision of economy prosperity. He redirected fuel subsidies to productive sectors through massive capital injection to state-owned companies in the 2015 revised State budget (APBN-P).
