A lot of people need saving these days, or so it appears. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) need saving because they’re supposedly under attack by, well, everyone—except from the well-informed Jakarta middle class such as we, of course. The National Police (POLRI) need saving because they are extremely corrupt, so the public perceive them to be. This aforementioned is why, if you’ve been following Indonesian news and social media, you would’ve noticed these hashtags widely used: #SaveKPK #SavePolri. And now we’re also seeing #Save Jokowi.
