The DPR RI Budget Body and the government have agreed on a target for Indonesia’s economic growth in the range of 5.1%-5.5% in 2025 or the first year of President-elect Prabowo Subianto’s government. In line with this, the meeting also agreed on other basic macroeconomic assumptions in the draft of State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for the 2025 fiscal year, including inflation for 2025 (1.5%-3.5%), and the rupiah exchange rate targeted at range of Rp15,300-15,900 per US dollar.
Chairman of the DPR Budget Agency, Said Abdullah, said that the basic macroeconomic assumptions and development targets agreed for 2025 would be the framework for the government to carry out the development process. He also highlighted that the pressure on the rupiah which continues to weaken is also a concern in itself because the national economy is vulnerable to pressure and changes from outside.
