People were not excited with the competition between presidential candidates in Central Java, the third largest province in Indonesia, in the last two presidential elections because the province is known as ‘Kandang Banteng’, home to the supporters of the ruling party PDIP. Indeed, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who was nominated by PDIP, won Central Java by a landslide in the last two presidential elections.
