Eight years ago, Annas Maamun, then governor of Riau, was caught after receiving bribes. He was found guilty soon after and sentenced to seven years in prison. Annas received clemency from President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo three years ago for humanitarian reasons. He was freed a few months later. But the problem is not over for Annas.
