The Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH Miftachul Akhyar, stepped down from his position following the recommendation of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)’s latest chairmanship congress. He was asked not to have two jobs. Miftachul, as we all know, has been re-elected as the Rais A’am (supreme leader) of the NU, the largest Islamic organization in the country.
