Major bourses in Asia mainly fell on Wednesday, amid worries over the impact of harsh sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. The Nikkei sank around 1.5%, dragged down by tech stocks. The Hang Seng and the Shanghai Composite also dropped, on fears that the COVID crisis in Hong Kong could spill over into China and become a security issue for Beijing. Shares in Australia rose, however, lifted by strong Q4 GDP data.
