POLRI’s Corruption Eradication Corps, At Last.

In 2021, amidst the drama of internal conflict between the leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and dozens of its former employees, the National Police (POLRI) appeared and provided shelter. The former KPK employees were made civil servants at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipikor) which is part of the Criminal Investigative Unit (Bareskrim). Some time after that, discourse emerged to separate Dittipikor from Bareskrim and make it more powerful. Over two years later, in March 2024, the POLRI Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that the formation of the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) was just waiting for the President’s approval. Prabowo’s Cabinet Lineup (2): Vice ministers

Pretty much as predicted, President Prabowo has also expanded the vice minister positions into 56, where some ministries have two to three vice ministers. Ministry of state-owned enterprises, for example, will have three vice ministers, including one former special staff of Jokowi. The list of high-ranking officials will grow longer when the president installing leaders of new agencies this week.

President Prabowo Subianto has on Sunday (Oct 20) announced his cabinet lineup consisting of seven coordinating ministers, 41 ministers, and five ministerial level directly reporting to the president. Some names have finally been confirmed, including Erick Thohir at SOEs, Bahlil at energy & mineral resources, Rosan at investment (whilst with add-on development of downstream industries).
