The latest development from PDIP is that the Party mentioned its own cadre, Nikson Nababan, as a potential candidate for the North Sumatera gubernatorial election this year. However, PDIP is still considering between nominating its own cadre or endorsing Eddy Rahmayadi, the incumbent. Whoever gets the endorsement from PDIP, they will challenge Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, the son-in-law of the outgoing President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
