Economic liquidity or money in circulation in a broad sense (M2) in May 2024 grew 7.6% year on year (y/y), higher than the growth in the previous month of 6.9% y/y, mainly influenced by developments in credit distribution and net foreign assets. Credit distribution in May 2024 grew by 11.4% y/y, after growing by 12.3% y/y in the previous month. Net foreign assets grew by 0.6% y/y, better than the previous month which contracted by 1.1% y/y. Meanwhile, net claims to the Central Government grew by 22.7% y/y, after growing by 25.8% y/y in April 2024.
