On Corruption in Sidoarjo : New Suspect

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) began 2024 with a Sting Operation in East Java. This time, the KPK succeeded in securing a number of parties and uncovering a case of alleged corruption in Sidoarjo. After the initial investigation, interestingly, the KPK only named one suspect. After a couple of weeks, towards the end of last week the KPK named a new suspect. The decision so far is interesting because the chronology of events reveals allegations that the proceeds of corruption were used for the Regent’s interests, but the Regent is still a free man until today.

Infrastructure Journal

For two days, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo visited South Sulawesi province for reviewing and inaugurating a number of infrastructure projects. The President inaugurated the Centralized Domestic Waste Water Management System (SPAL-DT) in Losari, Makassar with Rp1.2 trillion of investment. Sitting on 2.37 hectares of land, the SPAL-DT has 16,000 cubic meters per day of capacity with 9.6 kilometers length wastewater pipe network, serving 41,000 households. The implementation of SPAL-DT project, which began in November 2020, completed this month.
