PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) can breathe a little easier after the debt restructuring lawsuit (PKPU) filed by Bukaka Teknik Utama (BUKK), a company controlled by the family of Jusuf Kalla (former vice president, main supporter of Anies Baswedan—presidential candidate from Nasdem, PKS, and PKB), was rejected by the court. Even so, Waskita Karya cannot let its guard down. As of today, there are 13 PKPU lawsuits filed against Waskita Karya.

Towards the end of last week, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially announced the latest case of alleged corruption at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and has named the former Head of the Customs and Excise Office in Yogyakarta, Eko Darmanto, as suspect. The disclosure of this case was part of the crackdown which also ultimately ensnared Andhi Pramono, the one who led the institution’s office in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Similar to Andhi’s case, Eko is trapped in his own habit of showing off his wealth.
