The Muhammadiyah, the second largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, will elect its new chairman in Muktamar (chairmanship congress) on Nov. 18-20 in Surakarta (Central Java), the home town of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. The President is scheduled to open the Muktamar. This event is interesting to watch in light of the 2024 race given the Muhammadiyah’s role in Indonesian politics.To subscribe please click here
