Latest on Corruption in Buru Selatan

Similar to the case in Ambon, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named suspects in the case of bribery related to the procurement of goods and services in the Buru Selatan regency, in the province of Maluku, after conducting an investigation into the allegations of crimes committed during the tenure of former Regent Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa (PDIP). The proceedings continue far from media coverage and the briber had been convicted. Recently the prosecutors read their demands for Tagop.

Latest on Corruption in Ambon

Four months ago, we reported on latest case investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) where the KPK had three suspects. The case was alleged corruption related to the approval of the principal permit for the construction of the Alfamidi branch in Ambon City. Among the suspects is then Mayor of Ambon, Richard Louhenapessy. This week, the court proceedings started.

Bakrie Group’s Graha Andrasentra Propertindo (JGLE), which is still a ‘Gocap stoc’ (Rp50), divested 51.44% equity interests in PT Jungleland Asia (JLA) to PT Adiprotek Envirodunia (AE), aiming to help JLA in restructuring its debt to creditors, mainly Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI). AE purchased JLA shares at value of Rp251 billion.
