Kalla’s Latest Meeting

Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who is also former chairman of Golkar Party, recently met with former Military Commander (Panglima TNI) General (ret) Gatot Nurmantyo and Abdul Somad, a conservative muslim preacher. However, Kalla’s Spokesperson, Husein Abdullah, clarified that the meeting was unplanned. Still, the meeting is worth highlighting given Kalla’s important role in the upcoming 2024 race.

Chasing Surya Darmadi : Confiscation of Assets

Continuous pressure from The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) on businessman Surya Darmadi, owner of Duta Palma Group worked well. Surya finally returned to Indonesia in the late afternoon on Aug. 15, 2022 after being on the wanted list for nearly three years. Surya’s health condition had deteriorated a few days later and had to be treated intensively, but his condition soon improved and Surya was finally examined as a suspect on Aug. 24, 2022. At the same time, the AGO announced that it had seized various assets related to Surya with a total value of Rp10 trillion.

Latest on Sangihe Gold Reserve Case (1)

It has been nearly two years since the provision of a mining operation license on Sangihe Island in North Sulawesi has become a controversy.
