Political Parties & 2024 Race

The General Election Commission (KPU) has closed the registration of political parties seeking to participate in the 2024 legislative election. Out of 40 political parties registered at the KPU, 24 parties passed the first verification and thus will undergo the administrative and factual verifications. The other 16 parties were eliminated due to lack of dossiers, and failed to enter the 2024 election.

More Legal Issue for Samin Tan’s Asmin Koalindo

PKPU for Indah Kiat

In October 2021, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) and PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (INKP),  both part of Sinar Mas conglomerate, sued CV Karya Putra Bersama (CV KPB) for alleged default. The parties have a coal sale and purchase agreement. The court had already decided in favor of TKIM and INKP in June 2022, however, instead of implementing the court’s decision, CV KPB filed a lawsuit against INKP, seeking to force the company to restructure its debt.

Strong First Half of STAA

Plantation firm Sumber Tani Agung Resources (STAA) booked profit attributable to owners of Rp632 billion in the first half (H1) of 2022, jumped 76.5% year on year (y/y), helped by a 76% cut in selling and marketing expenses. While sales grew 17.8% y/y to Rp2.98 trillion.
