The number of arrivals by air in Jakarta jumped 1,037 percent to 14.1 thousand and those reaching North Sulawesi rose 7.6 percent to 466. Also, the number of arrivals by land in Atambua climbed 5,750 percent to 234. Tourists increased mainly from the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. In 2021, tourist arrivals slumped 61.57 percent to 1.56 million.
