The Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama’s Central Board (PBNU) Said Aqil Siradj has once again confirmed his intention to seek a third term in the upcoming Muktamar (chairmanship congress) of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. The three-day Muktamar will be held in Lampung next week beginning Dec. 23, 2021. Said Aqil, moreover, asked President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to remain neutral in the said Muktamar NU.
