Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Anwar Abbas criticized President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s administration regarding the issue of welfare gap and land ownership while giving his speech at the MUI’s Islamic Economy Congress on Dec. 10. The President, however, immediately responded to the criticism when it was his turn to speak.
