The former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who is also a former chairman of the Golkar Party, has been mentioned as a potential candidate to run in the upcoming Muktamar (chairmanship congress) of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. The upcoming Muktamar NU, as we all know, is a major political event to watch given the NU’s influence in Islam and politics in the country, especially in light of the 2024 elections.
