The administration of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will have the opportunity to appoint acting regional heads to lead 271 regions once the incumbent heads of said regions end their term in 2022 and 2023. The debate is whether or not the Jokowi administration can make active-duty military/police (TNI/POLRI) generals acting regional heads.
