Jakarta is buckling under the weight of new COVID-19 cases. There have been many anecdotal reports of people not being able to access care. In the past few days, news outlets have also reported deaths at home because hospitals could not attend to the sick. However, the Ministry of Health’s Spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi refused to admit that Indonesia’s healthcare system has collapsed.
